Have you ever experienced a thorn in your flesh. It’s not the greatest feeling a person can experience in life, but it is truly beneficial. 2 Corinthians 12:7 starts out like this. And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure.
It continues to say; Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
This is going on in my life as I pen these words. It reminds me of what the Apostle Paul went through in his life. As a young man, Paul trained under one of the greatest Jewish scholars of his time. Paul not only understood the elements of the law, he practiced them with great zeal. Regardless of what he knew, when he came face-to-face with Jesus Christ, his life changed forever. He no longer viewed the world through merely human eyes. The One True Living God gave him spiritual insight that far surpassed anything he had ever known. This was a time of great revelation in Paul’s life.
However, he didn’t understand that he had to be broken further so that he could be used in a greater way. God allowed Paul to be buffeted by a severe trial in order to humble him and remove potential pride. Through this time of weakness, Paul learned a new unexpected principle which the Bible calls weakness in strength.
The greater beauty of the trial surpasses all human understanding. When God humbles us before Him, He sees the meekness of our hearts and sends His strength and blessings into our lives. Frailty in a certain area should never bring embarrassment. The reason I say this is because we know how much God loves us. Brokenness is God’s requirement for maximum usefulness to each of us. While adversity is a bridge to a deeper relationship with God.
It is an honor to share what God does in our daily lives, you may know someone who is experiencing this right now. If you do, please take a minute to encourage them. God bless you all.

Thank you my friend and God bless you.
Right on brother, God had to use a stroke and cancer to finally humble me. Now, through the weakness of my body, my faith has become stronger. I’ve always been the person who thinks I have to do it myself to get it done right. But God has – and is – showing me that without Him, I am nothing. (John 15:5)
I’m glad that you have realized that, that is a blessing:)
Good post Michael. The Lord loves to keep our feet on the ground. Its the only way we can truly relate to others. Stay strong brother. 1Corinthians 10:13
Thank you Sammy, and that is so true:) No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
