LighthouseThere is nothing sweeter than the truth. What does the word say about the truth? John 8:32 says; If ye shall know the truth, the truth shall set you free. Hallelujah! Glory to God! There are those who are directed by the divine word of God, and there are those who are simply blinded by their own intelligence twisting the word to fit their own belief. I truly feel for these individuals because they are deceiving many people. That’s why I encourage you to check all scripture that is given to you regardless who it’s from.

Let’s see what 2 Timothy has to say about this. Let’s begin at 2 Timothy 3:14. But you must remain faithful to the things you have been taught. You know they are true, for you know you can trust those who taught you. You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus.

Shall I go on? All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It straightens us out and teaches us to do what is right. It is God’s way of preparing us in every way, fully equipped for every good thing God wants us to do. This is the truth, straight from the Bible.

As I said before, I truly feel for those who take it upon themselves to pervert the word of God. However, the hardest thing I deal with on a daily basis is the pain in my heart for those closest to me. I pray earnestly and fervently that the good Lord will give me the words that I need to help those that I dearly love become saved. When I speak to them we become more distant because the truth hurts. I just want to see them happy and in heaven.

So I encourage all to check and re-check all that you hear, do not be deceived!

Emily's box

Emily’s box

What does the Bible teach us about faith? Hebrews 11:1 says; What is faith? It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen, it is the evidence of things not yet seen. NLT. What can we deduce from this scripture? The message that I get may be different from yours. It’s telling me that I must stand firm on the rock as I speak my prayers to God without any doubt in my heart. For example, many people pray and when something doesn’t happen in their time God has forgotten them. They just aren’t realizing that when doubt seeps into their heart faith is no longer in action concerning that area of one’s life. The opposite of faith is doubt and when we doubt God we aren’t trusting him entirely as he expects us to. Therefore, should we expect anything to happen.

Allow me to share this with you out of the book of Matthew. What I’m about to share is about Jesus healing a Demon-Possessed Boy. Matthew 17:14-21 says; When they arrived at the foot of the mountain, a huge crowd was waiting for them. A man came and knelt before Jesus and said, “Lord, have mercy on my son, because he has seizures and suffers terribly. He often falls into the fire or into the water. So I brought him to your disciples, but they couldn’t heal him.”

Jesus replied, “You stubborn, faithless people! How long must I be with you until you believe? How long must I put up with you? Bring the boy to me.” Then Jesus rebuked the demon in the boy, and it left him. From that moment the boy was well.

Afterward the disciples asked Jesus privately, “Why couldn’t we cast out that demon?”

You didn’t have enough faith, ” Jesus told them. “I assure you, even if you had faith as small as a mustard seed you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.”

Faith come by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. The word is to be administered out of love and no one has done that better than Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. So please do not be offended when someone says you might check your faith, is it possible that you may be lacking. I am speaking from my own experience as I pen this post. I had to step back and look at what I was doing. When I did, I discovered that they were correct. I know we don’t like being wrong, but we are only human and God created us perfectly imperfect. This day I am glad they had the courage to speak those words to me because I was able to make the required changes necessary to improve my walk with Jesus. Thank you Lord for all that you do. Besides that, Jesus spoke those words to his disciples, why wouldn’t he speak them to us if needed? Amen!

God’s Timing

Picture I took at work after a storm. A sign of God's covenant he made with us.

Picture I took at work after a storm. A sign of God’s covenant he made with us.

How often do we grow impatient waiting for God to act? We discipline ourselves to pray earnestly in reverence to God. However, human nature says I need this now. I think we can all relate to this in one way or another. Truth be told, we have to wait on the LORD patiently and be expecting it to happen. Being human, we grow impatient and we often wonder if God is doing anything on our behalf.

I have learned this from experience, when we make an utterance to him he goes to work. The beauty of it is that he is working even when we think he isn’t. We have to remain obedient and faithful regardless the time period that has elapsed. God is not on our time schedule for he is not bound by time.

We have to learn to trust in all situations regardless the circumstances. Patience is key because our timing is nothing like God’s timing. Psalm 62 :1, 5 says; I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him…Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. We can always count on the LORD for he will never fail us nor forsake us.

Have a wonderful day my friends!

Don’t Be Discouraged

Super Natural

Super Natural

It is easy to become discouraged if we allow it. The word says in Matthew 6:33 Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. The truth is all battles are won on bended knee. When you begin to feel discouraged get down and get with God, tell him what you need right then. At this point in time it is no longer your problem. 2 Chronicles 20:15 says; This is what the LORD says: Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. This brings joy to my heart because we serve a God who takes on all our battles that we may have peace and joy in our hearts. Thank you LORD! So the next time you feel discouraged, cry out to the one who knows what to do. God bless you all.

I think it would be safe to say that none of us actually look forward to adversity. When adversity comes our way, the first thing we should do is cry out to the LORD. We should say father, don’t let the trials of life defeat us, help us see adversity in the proper perspective. I know I have been going through many trials in my life in the last year and a half and it’s truly difficult. However, I will keep my eyes fixed on the prize, JESUS!

Adversity comes in many different forms-sickness, accidents, disappointments, grief, calamities, failures, hard times, hurts, misfortunes, and relationships. These are just a few examples. Are there more? Of course there is. Should we be surprised when adversity comes our way? Of course not. Your WORD tells us that adversity will come for a variety of reasons.

You send adversity not only to strengthen our character, but sometimes as a consequence for our sinful nature. Other times Satan may bring adversity with one thing in mind, to get me to sin. Sometimes we face adversity for acting foolish or sinful. So in a nutshell, I guess the one thing we can count on is that adversity will come our way without doubt. One thing we should understand is that avoiding trials is not always best for us. Though they do not feel good, they actually make us stronger. They prepare us and equip us to continue to fight the good fight. It is imperative that we remember you care for us during adverse times, and that you have promised to be there through them.

Your WORD says in Isaiah 43:2–When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. Thank you LORD for you supernatural promises.

So let’s be encouraged my friends, no matter what we face we know that our God is always with us. God bless you all.

What is it about the word RISK that moves me. Is it simply a chance to exercise my faith by stepping outside my comfort zone? Maybe it’s because the door of opportunity has been presented and that I might accomplish something significant. Regardless, let’s not fear the word risk,  it is actually a blessing to the Christian walk. The Bible says that the Christian life itself is risky; it involves trusting in a God we can’t see, or taking a stand for what is right. So please Lord, I pray that you show us where we need to take risks with you.

PSALM 37:5 says; Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he will help you.

Genuine and Active

Regrets, what a burden to carry. We all are stricken with the guilt of past sins or mistakes in our lives. Lord, release from the chains of remorse, was that not why you shed your blood upon the cross for? Yes it was, you are the God of transformation and renewal, you are our redeemer. We have been redeemed, you have set us free. All glory to you God!!

Friends, one of the greatest things that I have learned in my walk of faith is that Jesus came that we may have life abundantly, he came to give us a future, and he came to give us a hope. Now here is something truly wonderful for all of us. The Father in heaven, our creator doesn’t hold our past against us, why should we? I mean why should we? We are only holding ourselves back when we take this stance, he sais as far from the east to the west I forgive you. Isn’t that wonderful news, now let’s stand up as a warrior should.

Listen to this….Romans 4: 7-8 says; Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sins are put out of sight.. Yes, what joy for those whose record the LORD has cleared of sin.

So I say rejoice, let’s rise up and place regret in its proper place, under our heals. God bless you all.

Childlike faith:)

Childlike faith:)

It’s no secret.  We are merely spiritual beings having a human experience. Because man fell in the garden sin was born into the world. There is not one who is exempt from this sinful nature. We are all born sinners who have absolutely no ability to change anything in our lives a part for you. We are required to trust in you with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength. Once we do this we begin to experience the true transformation of LOVE.

I tend to send up countless prayers about you helping me trust you. I often ask you to give me the ability to lean not on my own understanding and to strengthen me. I know all things work together for the good and in your perfect time because there is no time like your time. Psalm 9:10 says; Those who know your name trust in you, for you O LORD, do not abandon those who search for you. Is this awesome or what, trust is a beautiful gift bestowed by the LORD. Distrust is often painful because we tend to question other peoples motives towards us. With trust, relationships become more intimate and are deepened with others. When we know what people are telling us is true, we know they are acting in our best interest. When we are not able to trust God or people, we rob ourselves of true peace. However, you O GOD, we are absolutely confident that you always have our best interests in mind because you love us so greatly.

Speaking of trust, today after work I had an appointment at the Dentist. This morning I asked the Lord to show me a great sign about my family. When I say family, I am speaking of my wife Emily and my daughter Alice who live in Australia. Now here’s the crazy thing about this entire situation. I had to reschedule this appointment twice, once because my boss went on vacation and the other time because of the weather. This is how it ended up being today at four o’clock.

I jumped in my car after work and went straight to the Dental office. When I walked in the lady behind the counter said she would be with me in a minute. A few minutes passed and then she came out into the hall way and said Michael I’m ready. I got up and followed her back to this small room where a chair awaited me. I sat down and she said are you ready, Betsy is not able to do your cleaning as usual. I asked who was going to do it? She said my name is Emily and I am going to do it for you. As time went by she asked me if I was married or had any kids. I said my wife’s name is Emily just like yours and she began to laugh a little. Then I said I have a ten month old daughter and her name is Alice. She said this is crazy, I have a two-year old girl and her name is Alice. Then she asked me when my daughter was born and I said March. She said this is getting weird, my daughter to was born in March. I began to laugh carefully since she was busy cleaning my teeth. I almost asked her if her husband’s name was Michael.

I thought that was pretty wild. Romans 8:28 says; And God causes all things to work together for the good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. I truly believe this and it wasn’t by accident this happened today. It was like God was telling me something, what I just don’t know. So I have prayed about it and hopefully I receive an answer. If anyone has any ideas they would like to share with me I am all ears. I am truly thankful for this. We serve an awesome God. So I encourage all who read this to put your trust in the LORD, give it all to him. We will be blessed.

I have been invited to share my testimony at a new church this Sunday so would you all please pray for me. God bless you all.

A Prayer about WORK

Currently I have been at my job, Fashion Inc. for approximately five years and four months. I have worked really hard to make my dreams and aspirations a true reality at this place of business. The company is going through some things at this point in time and it has just been revealed that I have went as far as I will ever go by doing this. The Lord God knows my heart and knows that I will not settle for this in my life. I am a person who desires more responsibility as time goes by. So this leads me to say this. Our God is such a good God, when the door closed on me at fashion, God being the faithful God he is opened another door far greater than I could possibly imagine. This goes to show that hard work pays off, it may not be where you are currently, but he will never fail you nor forsake you. Hallelujah.

Jeremiah 29:11 says; For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. KJV. This is why I am good, the Lord blesses those who seek him diligently and that is my mission.

I’m no different from anyone else, if you believe I have the ability to do something, then make it right. If you can’t make it right with me, then you have nothing coming. I don’t do what I do for entertainment or from the kindness of my heart. I do it to make a living. So let’s just say that I have been struggling at work for about a week now. I’m at a point where I need to find new meaning in what I do.

Now here’s the crazy thing, when I woke up this morning I asked the LORD to help me with this. I opened my devotional up to read and this is what it said. The scripture is out of Colossians 3:23-24. Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the LORD rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the MASTER you are serving is Christ. Then I thought to myself this is what I have been doing all my years at Fashion Inc. Now I’m letting a few things impede with my groove. I have figured it out and it’s because I don’t know if I want to take this other job or not. I have prayed about this earnestly so I guess I will see when the guy gets up here Thursday night from Texas. We are going to set down and discuss all of this. This I am praying will heLighthouselp me greatly. I place all my trust in the hands of the LORD.

So right now I am experiencing my own little exile, I will continue to do what I do until the answer arrives in God’s perfect time. Please pray for me if you have the time. Thank you LORD and God bless you all.

I Can Only Imagine

What a crazy world we live in. I don’t even know where to begin. About seven years ago I embarked upon a new life in Christ, a new adventure , a fresh start in life. I began working for a company known as Fashion Inc. Sounds pretty wild, but the truth is we build gas stations all over the country. I would say with absolute confidence that we are the best in the business because we take pride in what we do.

At the beginning of this adventure I met a man named Mike Wilkins. He was also my boss. I came to work everyday, put my head down, and did as much as I could do everyday. After two years Mike made me the shop supervisor. You know how it goes, because Mike was the boss I was told many different stories about him. However, I didn’t let these stories shape and mold my thoughts on this man.

When I became supervisor of the shop it meant everything to me. Mike was the first male figure in my life to take me under his wing and teach me everything he possibly could. He has faith in me, he trusts me, and he believes in me. I have never had this before. We have spent almost five years in the same office learning and growing together. We have come to know one another pretty well. I really look up to this man, not only is he my boss, he is one of the best friends I’ve ever had. I say this because he never pulls any punches, he keeps it real, and never gives up.

So Monday of this week he gathers all of the Supervisors in the shop and takes us up to the conference room where we meet with the President of the company. I had no clue what was going on. Then out of the blue he looks at all of us and tells us that he is retiring, that January 29th is his last day at Fashion Inc. I couldn’t believe my ears, my heart sunk, and it just hasn’t been the same at work since. I thought he was going to be around at least a couple more years. However, I am happy for him because he’s about to do what he loves to do full-time. He’s a farmer.

Don’t get me wrong, I love what I do, but here shortly I’ll be waiting for him to walk in the door as usual, only he’s not going to be there. Isn’t change great:) I feel as if something has been taken from me. The more I analyze it, I think I do what I do more for him because of what he has done for me, and not so much the company. If that makes any sense. So as it says at the top, I can only imagine what is next. It’s going to be different, I can see that already.

"I am truly blessed!"

“I am truly blessed!”

I am a Romans 8:28 man so I know that God causes all things to work together for the good for those who love him and are called according to His purpose. So deep down in my heart I know all of this is happening for a reason. What is it? I have no clue nor will I pretend. Mark 10:27 says; With man it is impossible, but with God all things are possible. So I know it’s going to be alright, one day at a time. Then BAM!!!! Out of the blue is the blessing.

So Mike if you come across this little article I wrote I want you to know that I am truly grateful for all you have done for me, it has been a true honor working for you and by your side all these years,  and you have taught me so much about business and life. You are more compassionate than any one I have ever met, no pun intended. You are one of the greatest examples of mercy I have ever seen. You are truly one of the most amazing people I have had the honor to get to know, and one of the funniest people I have ever met.

You are in my prayers as is your family. I wish you the best as you enter into your retirement years. May you live long and prosper. God bless you and yours.

Love and Respect,
