New Beginnings

Reaching Out

Reaching Out

It’s no secret, at some point we all dream of a new beginnings that we may have the opportunity of something greater. I call it an escape from the same thing day in and day out. Deep in our hearts we yearn to wipe the slate clean and start over, just an opportunity to move away from past hurts or even to start afresh and do something different.

The most amazing thing that I have learned from my own experiences is that the Lord renews his mercies towards us every single day, we don’t have to be burdened by yesterday’s failures or regrets. Because of his unfailing love we can wake up every morning with the confident assurance that it is a new beginning, an opportunity to something greater than the day before.

So now may we truly embrace the dawn of each new day as a chance to start again and experience his tender mercies towards us. Truth be told, the only one who can keep that from happening is our self. For he is a God who will never fail us nor forsake us, he delights in his children everyday, and he blesses those who seek him diligently.

Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. Lamentations 3:23. Have a wonderful day! God bless all who read this.

Stand Firm

It is our responsibility to be a good witness for the one who shed his blood on the cross for all our sins. I encourage you to stand firm when you feel most afraid or discouraged about your experiences. The Lord will bring about opportunities for you to share what he has done in your life that you may be a blessing to another. This is the greatest story that you will ever tell, the story of how you come to know Christ. Your story is the pathway to a divine moment in another person’s life. Besides that, if God is for us who can be against us? There is not one who is more powerful. So go out and share you experience today.

And always remember, God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. So never be ashamed to tell others about the Lord. 2 Timothy 1: 7-8. Have a wonderful day, God bless you all.

When adversity comes our way who can we always count on? We should thank God for our struggles because they aren’t wasted by any means. He uses them to sharpen our character and to build our faith in him. We should take comfort in his promises because he is always with us, during the good and troublesome times. He also provides us with the wisdom to cope, the strength to conquer our problems, and the understanding to see how we might become stronger as we learn to trust in him.

The LORD is good, a strong refuge when trouble comes. He is close to those who trust in him. Nahum 1:7. NLT

There is no water to deep for us to overcome providing we rely on the Lord. And Jesus said with man it is impossible, but with God all things are possible. Have a wonderful day!

I believe it was Wednesday and Thursday night of last week that I text messaged my mother. The first night I didn’t get a response from her, the second night was unresponsive as well. My mother is older and she has battled many different health issues recently. So I gave it another day and nothing from her. That’s when I decided to call her and she answered the phone. I said, “Mother are doing alright?” She said yes why what’s wrong?

I just started to chuckle on the inside a bit. I was like thank you Lord. I said I messaged you a couple of times last week and you didn’t respond to either. She said I know, there’s something wrong with this crazy phone. The only thing I could make out was the word “RANSOM”, I said ransom, I didn’t text that to you. She said well that’s what it says. I said there has to be some kind of mix up, she said I’ll show you the next time you come down to see me and maybe you can do something with this phone.

Anyway, this is why I wanted to share this with you this morning. When I got up I said Lord show me what you want me to see today. So I opened my Bible up to Matthew 20:28 which says; Even the Son of man came not to be served but to serve others and to give life as a RANSOM for many.

As I was reading that I was astonished, I didn’t know what to think. I was thinking mom, and I was thinking God how do you do it:) However, I know I can’t understand the depths of his providence and I’m good with that. I think that’s what makes it so amazing to us all, the mystery connection between the human and the Holy Spirit. Truly Awesome! You are in my prayers, and please pray for me. God bless you all.

Allow me to share this with you. It is truly awesome! Ephesians 3:14-21 says; When I think of the wisdom and scope of God’s plan, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will give you mighty inner strength through his Holy Spirit.

And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it. Then yo will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

God's Grace

God’s Grace

Now glory be to God! By his mighty power at work within us, he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope. May he be given glory in the church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever through endless ages. Amen.

It’s true, we will never fully understand God. How can we even describe God? Truth is we can’t describe God in his fullness, when you think you can I want you to know that you are limiting God in your life. God is infinite and he can’t be placed in a box. Hallelujah!!

God is so good

So Friday night after work I came home and felt exhausted. I decided to lay down on my bed and take a little ten minute power nap before I did anything else. When I opened my eyes I looked at the time and it said 2:30 a.m. I couldn’t believe it, I had so much to do because Saturday is the big car show here in Ottawa. We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps. Proverbs 16:9.

So I decided to make some coffee, engage in some quiet time with the Lord, and then ride my bike to the gym. After that I would get things I need to get done before the car show gets started.

I then decided to go to the laundry mat to do my laundry. It’s 6:00 o’clock in the morning now. I was the first one inside the building, then another gentleman arrived. We ended up talking about the Lord for about an hour. He began to share his divorce with me. I thought that was pretty ironic because I just went through one myself.

Our stories are pretty similar in many ways except his kids were grown up when they divorced and mine was a little over a year old. God works in mysterious ways my friends, he knows what we need before we do. However, I really don’t know what I gained from that conversation to be quite hones. Him and his wife get along and still spend time together with one another.

After that I came back to my apartment. My neighbor behind me was getting ready for their day of auction. Bud, I call him doc because he delivered me when I was born, and his wife were outside directing traffic. They are in their eighties now and the house they live in is huge. Doc is suffering from knee problems so he can hardly go up and down the steps any longer. They decided to downsize and bought a new home which is much smaller than this house.

When I saw them milling around in the yard I went over to say hello and to look at all the things. I couldn’t believe my eyes, I’ve been in the house before and I’m still trying to fathom how all these things came out of there. As I was browsing a lady came up to me and asked me what I would like to have out of all the things in the yard. I looked and said nothing, I don’t need any of this stuff. Then she said what is it that you want. I said out of all this stuff if I had my choice, I would like to have the original portrait of John Wayne over there. Her response was unreal, she said I can’t believe Bud is going to part with that, it’s his favorite.

It was about time to go meet my friend on the Santa Fe Trail for the car show. I went up and grabbed my things and took off walking. I met Corey at eleven and we walked all over the place enjoying the cars from all over the states. It was about four when we decided to take a break. We walked back to my house and I drove him to his place. While waiting for the car cruise I went and seen a friend who just got out of the hospital.

When I left there, Harve, my grandpa text me and said there were a few items leftover from the auction, Corey and I should come see if we would like any of it. I told him we were getting ready to watch the 2004 cars cruise the town and that we would be over around eight o’clock. He said that would be great. He said there is a real nice recliner I think you would like. Corey’s sister ended up being with us and she is pregnant at this time. I told her about the auction and the things that were left over. She told me she didn’t have a chair to rock the baby in.

When eight o’clock rolled around we went back to the house. I seen all the things on the porch. It was a real nice rocking recliner as matter of fact and several different dishes. Heather came over and quickly fancied the recliner. I said if you want it, it’s yours. Then she said I walked by this house all the time when I was a little girl and always wondered what it looked like on the inside. I yelled at Jody, Harve’s wife and she came out on the porch. I said would you give Heather and her friend Amy a tour of the house and she said she’d love to.

When we went inside we walked through the kitchen and into the dining room. Allow me to add this, it is a huge mansion built back in the early 1900’s. The outside is block limestone and limestone pillars. The girls were in awe and making all sorts of gasping sounds. Jody turned the light on in the dining room and I said what! Are you serious? You got that picture. The portrait of John Wayne was sitting on the table. I couldn’t believe it. Jody said now Michael, don’t you tell Harve you seen that. I said alright.

As we left the dining area heading out in the rotunda I saw Harve in his smoking chair smoking a cigar. He said what’s up son? I said the girls are touring the house. He said I got you a birthday present would you like it plain or would you like it wrapped. I said grandpa it doesn’t matter, you didn’t need to get me a gift.

After that Corey and I loaded the truck up and took the chair and a few dishes to his sister’s house. She kept thanking me for the chair but I didn’t do anything. When I got back to the house I went inside and Harve gave me the portrait of John Wayne. I was filled with joy. I said how did you know. He said I remember your dad being a big John Wayne fan, he was his favorite, and he had all of his things which I got when my dad passed. My dad would have loved that portrait. John Wayne just happens to be one of my favorites even though he was way before my time. I use to sit and watch him with my dad when I was little. Know what I mean pilgrim:)

So in my mind I broke it down. I figure when I was gone some time that morning Harve came outside and Mary Lynn saw him and told him about the picture so he bought it. Well, I was wrong once again. He did what a real good friend does, he listened while I was talking to him. So it was an awesome day, I ended up with the one thing that I wanted from that auction and I wasn’t even there. God is so good. Thank you Lord for all that you do. I hope you enjoyed this story, I thought it was quite amazing myself:) Be blessed, you’re in my prayers and please pray for me.

As I was reading in the book of Psalms, Psalm 34 really caught my attention. The Psalm I am speaking of is a Psalm of David of course, regarding the time he pretended to be insane in front of Abimelech, who sent him away. As you read the words allow them to resonate in your heart, soak them in if you will. Enjoy!

I will praise the LORD at all times. I will constantly speak his praises. I will boast only in the Lord, let all who are discouraged take heart. Come, let us tell of the LORD’S greatness, let us exalt his name.

I prayed to the LORD, and he answered me, freeing me from all my fears. Isn’t that awesome! This is what he specializes in, he doesn’t want his children to suffer from any fear. Here’s the secret, by faith believing, faith come by hearing and hearing by the word of God, if you believe without doubt in your heart this is the truth, then it will be. Amen!

Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces. I cried out to the LORD in my suffering and he heard me. He set me free from all my fears. For the angel of the LORD guards all who fear him, and he rescues them.

Taste and see that the LORD is good. Oh, the joys of those who trust in him! Let the LORD’S people show him reverence, for those who honor him will have all they need. Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in theLighthousewill never lack any good thing.

Come, my children, and listen to me, and I will teach you to fear the LORD. Do any of you want to live a life that is long and good? Then watch your tongue! Keep your lips from telling lies! Turn away from evil and do good. Work hard at living in peace with others.

The eyes of the LORD watch over those who do right; his ears are open to their cries for help. But the LORD turns his face against those who do evil; he will erase their memory from the earth.

The LORD hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those who are crushed in spirit. The righteous face many troubles, but the LORD rescues them from each and every one. For the LORD protects them from harm-not one of their bones will be broken.

Calamity will surely overtake the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be punished. But the LORD will redeem those who serve him. Everyone who trusts in him will be freely pardoned.

Isn’t this amazing? I don’t know about you, but I can say thank you LORD for all that you do for us who believe in you. There are people I know and love who don’t trust in the LORD. My heart truly aches for them, I can’t put words to my feelings. However, I will continue to pray for them that they may experience true freedom for life eternal.

Holy Spirit

Roman 8:26-27

The Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words and pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will.

Power of God

Thank you Lord for aLighthousellowing we to experience your power. Only you have helped we conquer areas of sin in our life that would have never been possible in our own strength. Only you know how many others have experienced the same power. Many of us have lived a crazy life before we ever knew you, yet today your power continues to sustain us and protect us from backsliding into our old habits. You are such a loving and compassionate God to take care of us the way you do. There is none like you and that we are truly thankful for.

I can declare that I have been redeemed! My question is, “Have you been redeemed?” Your word says in PSALM 107:2; Has the Lord redeemed you? Then speak out! Tell others he has redeemed you from your enemies. If you haven’t already done this I encourage you to do so. You will be blessed exceedingly beyond what you could possibly imagine.

I can say with confidence that I am a walking talking miracle, only by the power of God in my life. I know my story has been an encouragement to many others so that they know the power of God is available to them as well. I only speak from experience, there was a day when I didn’t know the power of God existed. Your forgiveness and unfailing love are so obvious to me when I run into another individual who has been redeemed, that alone makes me want to encourage others by sharing my story.

Many times I have had a dramatic life change, and other times it’s been a steady walk of faith. Regardless, I rest in you and embrace the power you have available to me. Either way I am a living, walking, talking miracle of your powerful work within me. Lord, I give you all glory when I share about your wonderful acts. I pray you give me an opportunity to give you glory, honor, and praise. When the opportunity comes I pray you give me the words to point to the powerful work you have done in my life. Thank you Lord.

They overcame by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony. Revelation 12:11. NLT. So if you have been redeemed I encourage you to be of encouragement to another brother or sister. Allow them to see the power of God working through you. You will be blessed. Have an awesome day and God bless you all.

I’m going to share a story with you about a man who works with me. The first thing that came to my mind this morning was Psalm 118:24 which says; this is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it. I really don’t know how to explain what I felt to be quite honest, somehow I just knew something miraculous was going to happen today.

Let me begin here. My friend was promoted to a Supervising role at the company we work for. He has been struggling with alcohol, making it to work on time, and his wife being disabled. Anyway, as time marched on you could see that the alcohol was winning the battle. I had the opportunity to share with him on many occasions when he would come to my office and talk to me.

He would begin to illustrate how he would talk to grandfather. When he said this, I said so you practice the native American way. He said I sure do, my family has been doing it for generations. However, it doesn’t seem to be doing anything for me. Then he took a leap and asked me to tell him about the Lord. My mind began to race, I was putting sentences together and began speaking the word without hesitation. Somehow I knew this was going to happen just didn’t know when. I spoke with him for approximately an hour and the Holy Spirit left him truly grateful.

When he was about to close my door I said brother, let me leave you with this. Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33. He walked away with a smile.

A few weeks had gone by and we talked here and there when given the time and opportunity. One day he didn’t show up for work and my boss came to my office. He stepped in with this look on his face and sat down in front of my other desk. He said you’re not going to believe this, your friend got up for work this morning and found his wife passed away. I couldn’t believe it. I had no words to say. All I could think about was him and what he could possible be going through and how he was feeling.

I tried to call him a few times and he declined to answer. He was already struggling with the alcohol and this event gave him everything he needed to give up. Needless to say I wasn’t about to give up on him. We finally got him back to work and he had to step out of his supervising role. He took it better than many anticipated. I ended up giving him a job and made it a point to speak with him every day. I knew in my heart he was searching and the day came when he laid it all down.

He asked me why this had to happen. I began praying and the Lord gave me Romans

8:28 which says; And God causes all things to work together for the good for those who love him and are called according to his purpose. I said brother sometimes it takes a tragedy in one’s life to open their eyes. I used myself for example. I said when my dad contracted Lou Gehrig’s disease it brought him to something greater than himself. He cried out to God. God knew and my dad knew I didn’t know him so in God’s grand design he used my dad to speak to me right before he passed. God already had it all worked out, he used my dad to save me. So now you have some serious thinking to do. He thanked me and went back to work.

We talked almost every day about the Lord and today was the day he had the courage to ask me a question. It was really cool because we hadn’t spoke all morning because we were busy, however, after lunch he popped his head in my office and said Mike can I ask you a question, I said yes, what’s up? He said would you happen to have an extra bible I could get from you. I said hallelujah! He just started laughing and said no I’m serious. I said so am I, hallelujah! So tomorrow morning I’m taking him a bible that he can begin to read and search.

God is so good. I will say this, this story has a lot more to it, if you could of only been there as it has unraveled to this point you would be more than amazed. So many said there is no hope. God once again took a tragedy and turned it into another awesome testimony. Can I get an Amen! God bless you all, you’re in my prayers.
