What it means to be Holy

Believe it or not but I have spoken to some people and they think that to be holy means to be odd. I thought that was quite interesting. No, we’re to be different without doubt. More importantly, we have to many Christians doing unbiblical things who claim to be holy when in reality they are just odd.

Leviticus 11:44 says; “For I am the LORD your God: Ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: Neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”

Holiness is not achieved by what we have on, where we sleep and eat, or how many spiritual things we do. It is not a matter of dress or style of hair. Even if we live in a commune, monastery, or convent, that doesn’t make us holy either. There is no holiness in a hole.

So what makes us holy then? God makes us holy by the blood of the lamb, His son Jesus Christ. And in return of this great love, we endeavor to live holy lives because we love Him with our all. Holiness is a state of being, not doing. It is God-induced. God developed character trait that grows in us as we grow in our love relationship with God.

That my friends is what it means to be holy. God bless you all and have a wonderful day.

About spiritministries

I am a man who has learned not to rely on my own understanding the hard way. God revealed himself to me two and a half years before I got out of prison. It's the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. There is truly only one way and that is to have a relationship with God. Since my release S.P.I.R.I.T Ministries has came to fruition. We meet every Wednesday night at 7p.m. God asked me to write a book, in 18 months I finished Rock Bottom; Inspired by God, He provided me with a web blog, thank you Andrew, as you can see, I am a motivational-inspirational speaker, and singer. We now have a band known as The Un-Scene, you can find the link on my web site and check it out on face book. I am just a man who was given true life while in prison, freedom, salvation, and unspeakable joy by the grace of God. We go many places to speak and sing for the glory of God. I just want to share what God has done in my life that you may have the opportunity to experience the same joy He gave me. I give God all the glory for everything in my life for I couldn't accomplish anything a part from Him. If ye shall know the truth, the truth shall set you free, John 8:32. If you would like to hear us just contact me and God willing we will remain obedient. God bless you all.

  1. I’m an ex-cop and you are an ex-con and God has brought us together as brothers in Christ. Amazing isn’t it what God will do? Thank you brother for your comment on my blog. I’ve spent the past hour reading some of your work and it brings me great joy to see God working through your life. Keep up the good work.

“Holiness is a state of BEING not DOING”. I love this. Thank you.

Holiness is produced by God’s Grace. Christians have a holy heart. Without holiness no man shall see the Lord. Yes holiness is a state of being saved. Be ye holy as I am holy thus saith the Lord. Holiness not a bad word – very much scriptural. Appreciate your stand for Christ. Always remember God is with you and Jesus loves you, Amen
