As a Christian we will still encounter, even be bombarded with storms in our lives. There is not one person exempt from this experience. It is something that all must go through during their journey. It can be extremely difficult at times, however it is for God’s glory and for the benefit of other people. We all benefit from the storm, we gain a greater measure of strength, faith, and wisdom.
Mark 4:39 says; Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was great calm. Could you imagine witnessing this with your very own eyes. Truth be told we all have, we may not be sensitive enough to the Spirit to recognize it.
Furthermore, we cannot rebuke the storm in our lives if there’s a storm on the inside of us. Even the disciples could not rebuke the storm, because they lost their peace and were as stormy as the weather. But Jesus spoke, “Peace, be still” out of the well of peace within Him, the wind and the waves became calm. We must have peace in our lives. To do that, we must learn and discipline ourselves to maintain peace in our relationships with God, with ourselves, and with others. I know this is a challenge, yet it is more than possible. It is a blessing from above.
How do we do this? We maintain peace with God by believing and trusting in Him. Trusting in God in every situation, “NO EXCEPTIONS,” is the only way to stay at a calm peace. We also need to maintain peace within ourselves. We do this by refusing to live in guilt and condemnation, recognizing that God is greater than all our sins. We also keep peace with our fellow man, by not allowing strife in our relationships with others!
If you do not have this kind of peace at the moment go to God in prayer, seek Him earnestly with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. Do not give up because that rainbow is patiently waiting for you on the other side of the storm. Do not limit God in your life, if you do, you are saying you are settling for something other than what God desires for you. Stop allowing your emotions to reign king in your life for there is only one king of kings and His name is Jesus Christ. We need to all Him to reign king in our lives rather than something of self or this world.
So I encourage all right this moment, close your eyes and say, “Jesus, you are my King.” “Jesus, you are my King.” Have a wonderful day!
