God created us in His own image, and He created us to delight in us. Anyone who has accepted His Son Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior has been adopted into the family. Since the fall of man, we are born into sin. We are in a constant battle everyday because of our sinful nature. Therefore, when it comes to following our hearts we have to be truly careful. We need to know the difference between our desire and God’s desire for our lives.
Psalm 37:4 says; Delight yourself in the Lord; and He will give you the desires of your heart. Jeremiah said, “The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick” (17:9). With that description, you can imagine what the heart is capable of desiring. Delighting in what the world offers will only temporarily satisfy those desires and will sicken your heart even more. But if you delight in the Lord, your desires will change.
I believe without doubt this process unfolds as we seek to do God’s will. I guarantee that if you try to satisfy the desires of the flesh, you will never satisfy them, the greater the hunger. When we first come to Christ, nothing contests our will more than the desires of the flesh: Galatians 5:17 says; For the flesh sets its desires against the Spirit, and Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another.
Furthermore, God has given it to us instinctively therefore no man can deny Him. We have been given dominion, and we have been given the ability to reason. Which means we, as individuals have decisions to make. I pray that we all can seek God’s will in our life before making up our mind. God is always faithful, and His love never fails us. Blessed be the name of the Lord, Most High, For He is our “STRONG TOWER!” Have a wonderful day!
