The fervency of prayer is imperative. Acts 12:5 tells us that the church prayed “without ceasing: This may be translated “intensely.” Today, I think the reason we don’t pray with intensity like the early church is because we think we can do everything without prayer. Perhaps the worst thing about us is not our prayerlessness but our pride. We have our programs, plans, methods, pastors, choirs, Bible fellowship classes, and a building. We have this and that, so we think we know how to do it all. We don’t need God’s help. And you know what the devil does? He stands in the corner and laughs, he mocks us, but the important thing to know is that he fears our prayers. Do you only pray intensely during a crisis? Or do you pray intensely every time? Jeremiah 29:13 says, “And he shall seek Me, and find Me, when ye shall search for Me with all your heart.” Intensity! Have a wonderful day!
