When we experience pain and loss because of something that is beyond our control, we may feel like God is our enemy. The anger and confusion we may feel don’t need to destroy our faith. We may never grasp why God allows such trials, but at such times we need to wholly trust in God, who is sovereign and will not allow us to suffer more than we can bear.
Job felt this way, too. He said, “God has blocked my way and plunged my path into darkness. He has stripped me of my honor and removed the crown from my head. He has demolished me on every side, and I am finished. He has destroyed my hope. His fury burns against me; he counts me as an enemy. His troops advance. They build up roads to attack me. They camp all around my tent….My close friends abhor me. Those I loved have turned against me. I have been reduced to skin and bones and have escaped death by the skin of my teeth….Oh, that my words could be written. Oh, that they could be inscribed on a monument, carved with an iron chisel and filled with lead, engraved forever in rock” (Job 19:18-24).
Despite Job’s confusion and pain, he was able to conclude his complaint with a statement of his faith in God: “But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and that he will stand upon the earth at last. And after my body has decayed, yet in my body I will see God! I will see him for myself. Yes, I will see him with my own eyes. I am overwhelmed at the thought!” (Job 19:25-27). God is on our side, even if we can’t see it right now.
No matter the trial or tribulation that comes our way we must keep the faith. Our faith will bring us VICTORY. As a born again Christian we know without doubt that Jesus Christ paid a debt that he did not owe, and that we owed a debt that we could not pay. This is the truth, and when we stand on the truth our great redeemer will help us get through. So I encourage you to kneel before the cross, bow your head, and lay your burdens down. Stand up strong, lift your chin, and just say thank you Jesus, thank you. For I know that on the other side of every storm is a rainbow, and the rainbow is a sign of God’s Covenant with his children, and that is unconditional love. So be thankful and continue to seek God earnestly in your life. He will never fail you, nor forsake you. Halleluhah!
May God continue to bless you exceedingly and abundantly beyond your scope of understanding!
