A young man asked me how is it that we can experience true joy? I told him the secret of being full of joy can be found by getting to know Christ better and making him the center of our life each day.
I love times like this, it reminds me of myself when I first began my mission on getting to know Jesus Christ. It was a true blessing to hear these words leave this young mans mouth. It shows me that the Holy Spirit is drawing him closer, that he is seeking something greater. As we seek Christ each and everyday we begin to get a better understanding of what he has to offer us. We gain wisdom that we never knew existed in this world. We slowly transform into a giver.
Philippians 4:28-29- If you are a thief, stop stealing. Begin using your hands for honest work, and then give generously to others in need. Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them. This is how we are to conduct ourselves, to look out for others in greater need for we will be blessed from above.
I would like to share this great act of kindness with you. There is a lady here in town who just found out that her fifteen year old son has lymphoma. They have to travel a great distance so he can receive his treatment. She is a single mother and times are truly hard right now. I would like to commend Jim for what he did the other day. He heard about this misfortune, and he ran into her in town the other day. He took it upon himself to talk to her about her son. He said I know the cost of gas is high and you are going to be doing alot of traveling so I want you to have this. He gave the woman fifty dollars to help her and her child. That is totally awesome brother, that is how great our God is.
I thank God for all of you and I would like to make a special request concerning this lady and her child. Would you all please pray for them? Pray that the Lord will heal this young man, that his mother and family have peace during this storm in their life. Pray that they are given a provision for the love of God. Thank you and God bless you all.
