I know there has been times in my life when I was so lost I just wanted to give up. It just seemed so overwhelming, I couldn’t find one reason to carry on. I thought my life was so damaged that it was beyond repair. It took me 35 years to understand that I wasn’t the only one with these feelings. There is only one answer to this problem, and the answer is Jesus Christ. Jesus knows all of our deepest thoughts, feelings, and emotions. He is the only one who can bring them back to a healthy balance.
The Lord put this on my heart to share with all who is willing to read this. I am going to share the illustration of the lost sheep that Jesus spoke about in the Book of Luke. As you read this try to place yourself in the same situation.
STORY OF THE LOST SHEEP
Luke 15:1-7 Tax collectors and other notorious sinners often came in to listen to Jesus teach. This made the Pharisees and teachers of religious law complain that he was associating with such despicable people-even eating with them.
So Jesus used this illustration. If you have one hundred sheep, and one of them strayed away and was lost in the wilderness, wouldn’t you leave the ninety-nine others to go and search for the lost one until you found it? And then you would joyfully carry it home on your shoulders. When you arrived, you would call together your friends and neighbors to rejoice with you because your lost sheep was found. In the same way, heaven will be happier over one lost sinner who returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away!
This story is a perfect example of God’s grace towards those who have strayed away and his great joy in finding them. No matter how damaged our past is, we are extremely valuable in God’s eyes, which is reflected symbolically by the lost sheep. The sheep being a truly valuable commodity in this time, that the owner would stop whatever it is he is doing to search for the lost sheep, this shows how valuable we are to the one who owns us, God, our creator. Praise God! I find this overwhelming as well, only in a good way. He loves all of us unconditionally. Like Psalms 103: 13 says, The Lord is like a Father to his children, tender and compassionate, to those who fear him.
I encourage you, do not let anyone get in the way of your dreams. There is no man or woman in this world that is worthy, always remember this. I say what does the rich and poor have in common? God created them both. Isn’t that something. Many men forget where they came from, who gave them life and the ability to do whatever it is they do. They are no better than the next person, maybe in their mind they are, but they are the one who is going to have to answer to that when the time comes. It’s by the power of the blood. You cut a poor man, then cut a rich man, oh my God! It’s the same blood, wow! Truly amazing isn’t it, we are all the same on the inside to the core, God’s creation. So do not get caught up in the vanity of your own mind and don’t entertain the vanity of another either. Walk away, God will humble those who think they are greater in anyway, I’ve seen it first hand. It happened to me in a truly profound manner. I thank God to this day for showing me the hard way because that is what it took to get my attention.
I hope that one day I will be forgiven by all those who I have tresspassed against in anyway shape or form. I am a man of God and this is my mission that God put on my heart. If my experience can keep someone else from doing over a decade in prison, thank God because prison is not the place to be, but it is there for those who do not want to listen. The darkest place in the world.
I pray that the Lord continues to bless you beyond all understanding. Have a great weekend and enjoy the weather and your family to the fullest. God bless.
