Hello world-Trust

S.P.I.R.I.T Ministries

Inspired by: God

Welcome back to another edition of Spirit Ministries newsletter. I would like to thank all of my readers for your encouragement, the inspiration that you have brought to my life, and the support you have provided to keep this alive. Through the grace of God I have been blessed to continue his work by putting these words on paper only hoping to touch the heart of whoever it maybe. That is how he works, and what makes it so great is that it is beyond our understanding.

I would like to touch up on the last issue real quick. I spoke on foregiveness using the book of Psalms, and the book of Isaiah as examples to shed light on how the Omnipotent foregives his children of all of iniquity. What man or woman do you know that has the ability to do that? Myself, I know of none, simply because there is only one with that form of perfection. I would like to bring it to your attention that it is your responsibility to foregive who ever you may hold something against. The truth is, as humans, no matter who we are, we all yearn for foregiveness.

Have you ever found yourself in a position that you offended someone? Maybe not at first, but over time we hope that the offended will foregive our behavior. We all know that the feeling of guilt can be overwhelming and hard to deal with. Eventually, the guilt turns into a burden that seeps deep down in our heart which can become truly unhealthy. Until foregiveness is granted, the healing can not begin. Just like when someone offends you, I encourage you to foregive them as you would want foregiveness as well. So please, if you have a mother, father, sibling, spouse, friend, or whoever it maybe, foregive them and be free of that burden. Life is to short for keeping one another apart. The truth is you only get what you give.

What is trust? Trust is reliance on another:assured hope. The greatest thing that you could ever do is turn your will, and your life over to the care of God. I am speaking from experience. I thought I hit rock bottom almost eleven years ago when I first went to the penitentiary. Friends, I was so wrong. I continued to live life my way while in prison. I went through many trials and tribulations. The entire time the Lord was trying to tell me something, but being the man I was I wouldn’t listen to him. I thought I knew it all, I was a man who could trust no one. I didn’t need anyone to tell me what I should do. I’m pretty confident that you have been their as well.

It wasn’t til the eighth year of my sentence that the Lord allowed me to hit rock bottom. One day from out of nowhere they called my name over the intercom to inform me that I have a visit. I thought they had made a mistake because I didn’t get any visits. I went to the visitation room, found out they made no mistake. My fathers last wish was to see me. I couldn’t believe my eyes. My pops was in a wheel chair, I didn’t even recognize him. He was suffering from Lou Gherig’s disease. Long story short, the last words he uttered to me was, boy, I hope you are saved one day. That was the last and only time I seen my dad while in prison. I went back to my cell totally confused. I just couldn’t fathom the idea of that being my dad. For the first time in my life I got down on my knees and said God help me. This was the greatest day of my life, somehow I gained the courage to ask for help, and to put my trust in his hands.

Two weeks passed, and on a beautiful afternoon, the Chaplin appeared in front of me out of nowhere. He asked me my name so I told him. He said I truly dislike being the one to tell you this, but your father has passed away. I couldn’t believe it, my whole world was already upside down, and now this. I just went to my cell so I could be by myself. The Lord has brought great understanding to my heart. God allowed a tragedy in my life to open my eyes, and it took the sacrifice of a great man, my father to bring understanding. I know that he is up their smiling down upon as I pen these words. His passing has brought many blessings to my family, and friends. God allows tragedies in our lives to bring us closer together, and my family is a perfect example. We are now closer than ever, and God is still working. That is something only he can do.

Sometimes we tend to compare the power of our peers from childhood experiences to the power of God. When an individual has been victimized from a peer using abusive power etc., he or she may anticipate these qualities in God. It is imperative to understand that just because God is a power greater than we are, and the people who victimized us represent a power greater than we were, that we don’t assume that our God will harm us if we entrust our lives to him. Jesus tells us that he didn’t entrust his life to men because he knew what was in their hearts. Jesus voluntarily turned his life over to God the Father. PSALM 118:8-“It is better to trust the Lord than to put confidence in people.”

I have learned through experience that putting confidence in people only brings disappointment. However, we can not let this keep us from trusting again. I encourage you to turn your will and your life to the only one who is worthy of being trusted. NUMBERS 23:19 tells us- “God is not a man, that he should lie. He is not a human, that he should change his mind.” While HEBREWS 13:5 tells us- And God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never forsake you.” We can turn our life over to Someone who can really take care of our needs.

I would like to commend Cody Hollingshead and Raisa Hayden for their ability to put their trust in the Lord. This is a true blessing, yet a great example of how two people can overcome the fear of past experiences which impeded progress in a healthy relationship. When we have a trusting relationship with the Lord, our existing relationships will follow suit God willing. I would like to congratulate both of you on your recent engagement along with the new found joy in your hearts. God bless.

Father God, I pray that you continue to shine your light, shower your blessings, protect, and provide for all of my friends, my family, all my brothers in the prison, all my christian brothers and sisters, and all the children of the world. I pray that you continue to provide us all with the strength, the courage, the inspiration, the motivation, the patience, the perserverence, the wisdom, and the success we yearn for. I pray that you lift Spirit Ministries, Rock Bottom, and M & C Miscellaneous according to your will. I thankyou for this opportunity Lord, I give you all glory. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Thankyou

Michael Teter

God bless you all

About spiritministries

I am a man who has learned not to rely on my own understanding the hard way. God revealed himself to me two and a half years before I got out of prison. It's the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. There is truly only one way and that is to have a relationship with God. Since my release S.P.I.R.I.T Ministries has came to fruition. We meet every Wednesday night at 7p.m. God asked me to write a book, in 18 months I finished Rock Bottom; Inspired by God, He provided me with a web blog, thank you Andrew, as you can see, I am a motivational-inspirational speaker, and singer. We now have a band known as The Un-Scene, you can find the link on my web site and check it out on face book. I am just a man who was given true life while in prison, freedom, salvation, and unspeakable joy by the grace of God. We go many places to speak and sing for the glory of God. I just want to share what God has done in my life that you may have the opportunity to experience the same joy He gave me. I give God all the glory for everything in my life for I couldn't accomplish anything a part from Him. If ye shall know the truth, the truth shall set you free, John 8:32. If you would like to hear us just contact me and God willing we will remain obedient. God bless you all.
