Welcome back to Spirit Ministries ladies and gentlemen. I truly don’t know how to thank each and everyone of you for all of the positive feedback and words of encouragement you have either spoken or sent to me. Just know that I am extremely greatful and that I give all the glory to God. My reasoning behind this is simple. Honestly, if it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t be doing this. I thankyou for believing in me and my ability to do this. May God bless all of you beyond your understanding.
Last time I spoke about relying on our own understanding, our own strength, and being able to recognize the presence of the Lord in our lives. When we are able to understand all of these aspects about our God we gain the ability to see how he blesses us as we go about our day. People, this is Goodnews, this is how he continues to build our faith. Once you truly grasp the way he works you will be in awe of it. You begin to look at people and all of the things around you from a different perspective. Your spirit is lifted, your heart is excited, and the true meaning of life is revealed. Suddenly you become anxious to share with others what the Lord has done in your life. This is a true blessing when this happens, it is a miracle, and be assured that the angels in heaven are rejoicing. 1 Corinthians 2:15-16 -We who have the Spirit understand these things, but others can’t understand us at all. How could they? For, “Who can know what the Lord is thinking? Who can give him counsel?” But we can understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.
Have you ever asked yourself why something you planned out fell through? Well, did you ever think it is because God had something else worked out for you all along. I can identify with this issue, some of you have known me for years. Honestly, I never saw myself doing what I am doing in my life right now. I have been inspired by God to do many good things as before I just lived for myself and my own selfish ways. I was close minded and thought I knew it all, inside I was full of darkness and extremely miserable. While in prison this last time I was reading the book of Proverbs one night before the lights went out and I ran across this one Scripture that changed my entire outlook on life.
Proverbs 16:3– Commit your work to the Lord, and then your plans will succeed. It’s like this. I made plans for many things that I wanted to accomplish in life and as time went by I would accomplish several of the steps required to make the plan become reality. Without warning a road block would appear and my plan would fail. Talk about disappointment, all of the work I put in to accomplish this goal was for nothing. I didn’t understand why it could go so well and then be pulled right out from underneath me. One day I realized some times we go about things the wrong way to make our goals reality and that is when the Lord will step in and make he presence obvious. This is one way he will humble us, he is simply saying stop relying on yourself, it will only get you in trouble. This is the truth, and it happens to all of us.
I have a different outlook on life now. I pray for others and God’s will in my life. Any work I do, even if I don’t like it, I commit to the Lord. I do what I do for the glory of God. We must do what we have to do to make a living and to get where we want to be. Through prayer and patience God will provide you with what you need. This is when the plans we have made will become reality through exercising our patience, humility, and faith in God’s way. For instance, God inspired me to begin this ministry while in prison back in 2008. I had no idea how he wanted me to do it, however, he has revealed every step to me as time progresses. When he reveals the step, I simply implement it into my work and go from there. I put all of it in his hands because his wisdom is infinite, and mine is finite.
Through God’s direction I composed the first issue of this newsletter and ten people read it. This is my fifth newsletter and I now have forty plus readers. That is a miracle my friends and I am truly greatful and excited for this opportunity that God blessed me with. I have readers in Kansas, Iowa, Maryland, Missouri, and this last week a lady from Florida has been added to the list. I thank God for the work that he is performing in my life. I will share something with you that is crazy, I don’t understand any of it and it’s a beautiful feeling. The Bible, the book of Ephesians 3:19 will even tell you that God’s power is beyond our understanding. That is Goodnews.
I am truly greatful that God has chosen me to try and bring inspiration and some type of understanding to one’s life. It is a great honor and a true blessing. Because of the increase in readers I pray that in support of this newsletter that you would kindly make a donation to Spirit Ministries to help cover the cost of the materials; the ink, the paper, the envelopes, and the stamps required to keep the Spirit alive. It’s for the Glorly of God and what he can do in others lives. Any support would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou.
This is a special tribute to my friend and brother Cody Hollingshead of Garnett, KS. I don’t mean to put you out on front street, please forgive me but your acts of humility and kindness this last week are truly commendable. Cody took the time out of his life when he could of been doing something else by volunteering his time to help an elderly couple in Richmond, KS. A few years ago the garage of this elderly couple blew down and he spent his time cleaning it up for them out of the kindness of his heart. This is just the tip of the iceburg when it concerns his heart. Cody is a great example of how God’s love can shine through us. I pray that God will bless you beyond your understanding brother, you deserve it. You are a good man.
Father God, we thankyou for your son Jesus Christ who shed his blood on the cross for all of our sins, we come to you with a repentant heart and ask that you forgive us. We pray that you continue to mold us to your likeness and give us understanding when we are in need. Lord I pray that you continue to give us the strength, the patience, the perservenrence, the wisdom, the motivation, the humility, and your direction in our lives. I ask that you protect, provide for, shower your blessings, and shine your wonderful light upon my readers, my family, all Christian brothers and sisters, all the brothers in prison, the staff and administration at LCF, and all of the children of the world. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
God bless all of you,
